Kate.net is committed to protecting the privacy of its users, and as such does not share, exchange, or sell any personally identifiable information such as email addresses, names, or any other individual-specific information to any third parties. Furthermore, Kate.net is strongly anti-spam.

What Information is Shared

Kate.net may in the future share with third parties (potential advertisers) information relating to general web site usage statistics (i.e., how many 'hits' the site receives per day, month, etc., what pages are most accessed, and similar statistics). Kate.net has not to date, but may in the future share some aggregate poll data (i.e., 'X' percent of users who responded to a poll indicate they are in 'Z' age group, etc.) with third parties. What Information is Gathered

Information is gathered by Kate.net in the following ways:

1. General Usage Data is collected in a Web site usage statistics program. This shows how many 'hits' the site received per day, general domain statistics of visitors (i.e., whether visiting domains are .com, .net., etc.; the top visiting domains -- such as aol.com, etc.), IP addresses of visitors, etc.

2. Kate.net Mailing List - When signing up for the Kate.net Mailing List, a user must necessarily supply his or her email address in order to receive emails from Kate.net.

   Kate.net specifically has chosen the Bravenet mailing list service because of its special security features, including a double opt-in subscription system, and because Bravenet does not rent or sell email addresses stored in its system. The Bravenet system utilizes special safeguards to ensure that individuals cannot be signed up to mailing lists without their permission. A user must reply to a confirmation which is sent to the email address the user provided before they will be added to the mailing list. A user may elect at any time to be removed from the Kate.net mailing list by utilizing the Bravenet web site interface on the Kate.net site or by clicking on the 'Unsubscribe' link located at the bottom of each emailed newsletter update. 3. Ad Banner Data
   
   Kate.net uses third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit the Kate.net website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.    Advertising.com - Kate.net utilizes a rotating banner advertising system served out by Advertising.com. As such, they collect data relating to the banners themselves (how many times the banners display or how many click-throughs the banners receive, and related data).    • Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
   • Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to visitors based on their visit to this site and other sites on the Internet.

   Other static advertising banners or text and link advertisements are also placed on the Kate.net site; however, those banners or links go directly to the advertisers without going through a third party advertising system, and no personal data is collected by Kate.net via those buttons or banners or links.
